The North Face & Ellis Brigham Snowsports Film Night [Manchester]
Event Information
About this event
Join The North Face and Ellis Brigham for an evening of winter exploration as we follow various athletes as they take on snowsports projects across the globe.
We will be screening Grounded, Versatile with Victor De Le Rue and Sam Anthamatten, and The Approach with Leanne Pelosi and Vasu Sojitra.
Grounded: Having grown up inheriting a deep respect for the mountains in Scotland, four friends who connected over their love for Scottish snowsports find themselves reunited back where it all began.
Having chased snow across the globe, the lads find themselves grounded. 2020 and the global pandemic had other ideas and finally they have wound up together on home soil. A winter in which they can explore their backyards with a whole new perspective. This is a journey of friendship and adventure through an unpredictable Scottish winter
Versatile: Victor and Sam are part of a new generation of athletes who are changing the way people practice mountaineering. It's not just about climbing a peak and then coming back down.
Now they jump over crevasses, climb ice walls and ride them down, descend steeper and steeper slopes and even take off with paragliders when no exit can be found.
They are also just 2 friends, a snowboarder and a skier, sharing their love for the mountains. Both experts in their discipline, but still looking for fun and new adventures. It's a story about humans adapting to the mountains, not mountains to the human.
The Approach: Whether taking turns breaking trail up the mountain or taking our own unique paths down, the tracks we leave behind are the perfect visual expression of each person's individual contribution and what we can collectively accomplish together. Spend some time following different tracks with The Approach, an action-driven ski and snowboard film elevating people of colour, women, and adaptive athletes.
Your ticket includes a free drink on entry.
