This is a linear walk through Jersey’s five-years of German occupation during World War II.
While the island is covered wartime defences, this walk will take you past of the lesser-known but still fascinating utilitarian wartime structures, before making our way to the impressive and well-preserved remains of the anti-aircraft battery that once protected the Jersey War Tunnels.
Along the route, your guide Tom will share stories of everyday life under occupation — how islanders endured five years of isolation, adapted to shortages, and quietly resisted in small but meaningful ways.
The walk concludes at the Jersey War Tunnels, where you’re welcome to explore the site further or relax with a drink at the café (please note: entry and refreshments are at your own expense). From there, you can either catch a bus back to town or enjoy a 20-minute stroll back to the starting point with Tom.
A walk of 1.5 miles.
