The Oldest Light House in Brazil - Farol da Barra in Salvador, Bahia
About this event
The "Farol da Barra" or Barra Lighthouse is an iconic place for "baianos" (locals). The construction of the lighthouse in the old Forte Santo Antonio in 1698 is very famous Carnival location in Brazil and considered the oldest in the Americas.
One of Salvador’s historical landmarks, the Barra Lighthouse is located in the Santo Antônio Fort, at the Barra Beach. The "Farol" (as we call the lighthouse) has a breathtaking view of "Baía de Todos os Santos" and, the behind the fort, is a perfect spot to watch the sunset over the sea. Some very nice coffee shops and restaurants are also available in the area.
This will be a nice walk in Barra area, that is considered one of the best locations for a vacation in Bahia and also for the Carnival Season. The old "Vila do Pereira", the first village in the Salvador, became a must-see in the city and also virtually with HeyGo.
Hope you can join this tour and get to know a bit more about my beloved Bahia!
