The Online Sewing Weekender 2022

Following four years as an in-person sewing holiday in Cambridge, UK, the Sewing Weekender (organised by The Fold Line & Charlotte Emma Patterns) moved online in 2020 and is back for it's third year!

The 2022 event will again take place online, over the weekend of 21-22nd May, and will feature two days of online content to watch and participate in, as you work on a sewing project at home.

How to take part

The Weekender is an informal community sewing event.

To join in, simply work on a sewing project of your choice at home over the weekend of the 21-22nd May. Share your plans and progress with other attendees on Instagram using the hashtag #SewingWeekender and in a dedicated Facebook Group.

By purchasing a ticket, you'll gain access to inspiring video tutorials and messages from sewing businesses and makers, to keep you entertained while you sew, plus a digital goodie bag. You will also be able to chat to other attendees in informal Zoom rooms.

10% of profits from the event will be evenly divided between the following charities:

At 6am (BST) on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd May you will receive an email containing private links to that day’s video content, at the email address you used to book your ticket. The videos can be watched at any time and will remain available after the event.

Zoom rooms will be open for attendees to drop in and chat to each other during the days.

The event will take place across the following online platforms: YouTube, Instagram, Zoom. You will need a device (computer, tablet or phone) with internet connection in order to join in. An Instagram account is also recommended; no account is required for Zoom or YouTube.
