The Only Way is Ethics 2016
Tue, 21 Jun 2016, 18:00
PR and Ethics hit the headlines recently over allegations from a former police press officer for South Yorkshire Police. Have you ever been in a quandary over ethical practice? Do you know how to assess the challenges or where to go for help?
As part of a nationwide drive by the CIPR to promote ethical practices and improve professional standards across the industry we invite you a special evening seminar with two highly-experienced PR practitioners from the region.
Mel Powell, Senior Lecturer in Public Relations at MMU Business School will get the evening’s proceedings under way with an introduction to ethical theory. This will be followed by a detailed exploration of how PR practitioners can apply these principles to help steer themselves and their clients through the myriad of ethical challenges they face day-to-day.
The evening’s second speaker will be Ian Williams, Director of Communications at the Think Money Group. Ian will discuss real-life ethical dilemmas for communicators and offer his perspective on the ethical principles of persuasion and influence.
Ethical practice in public relations is a compulsory module within the CIPR's CPD (Continuing Professional Development) scheme. With ethical practices in the spotlight now more than ever, this is a fantastic opportunity for practitioners to gain an insight into ethical practice and achieve 5 points for this CPD stream.
This event is aimed at CIPR members and non-members alike. If you work in PR, be it in-house or agency, this event offers a great opportunity not only to hear from experienced PR professionals, but also to meet other PRs from the region and find out more about the work of the CIPR North West community.
At the event, non-members will have the opportunity to receive a special discount code that allows you to join the CIPR without paying the joining fee.
For any queries, please email Linda O’Neil, CIPR’s group administrator, at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 0845 331 2287.
Full payment must be received prior to the start of the event. No refunds or credit notes will be possible in the seven days prior to the event but you will be entitled to send a substitute.
