Join CIPR North West members after the AGM for two presentations on ethical practice in public relations.
Financial, reputational and corporate crisis through the eyes of one of the UK’s most ethical brands: discover how one of our region's biggest, most iconic brands coped with its ethical crisis in 2013/14. Former Public Affairs Manager and now Ethics and Values Manager, Ian Rigarlsford, tells the story of how The Co-operative Bank launched their ethical strategy earlier this year, following the high-profile recapitalisation of the Bank.
Preceding Ian will be Mel Powell, Senior Lecturer in Public Relations at MMU Business School. Mel will give a quick introduction to basic ethical theory and how PR practitioners can apply it to steer themselves and their clients through the ethical challenges they face today.
This year ethical practice in public relations is a compulsory module within the CIPR’s CPD (Continuing Professional Development) scheme. CIPR North West is the first CIPR branch to host a session on ethics. If you attend, as well as gaining insight into ethical practice, you will gain 5 points for this new stream of CPD.
This event is aimed at CIPR members and non-members alike. If you work in PR, be it in-house or agency, this event offers a great opportunity not only to hear from experienced PR professionals, but also to meet other PRs from the region and find out more about the work of the CIPR North West community.
Light refreshments, tea and coffee will be provided. For directions see http://www.business.mmu.ac.uk/newlocation/location.php and for the nearest car park see https://www.totalcarparks.co.uk/carparks/manchester/oxford-road.
At the event, non-members will have the opportunity to receive a special discount code that allows them to join the CIPR without paying the joining fee.
