The Oracle Collective x UCL: Jazz jam

The Oracle Collective x UCL: Jazz jam

By UCL East Engagement

Overview

Reclaiming identity through a sonic response to the legacy of eugenics

This jam is a sonic response to the legacy of eugenics, bringing together our creative community to begin a conversation on how we reclaim our collective narrative. Through sound, we ask: how do we express our identity as a community grounded in the knowledge of the past?

The session will run for an hour, with the house band opening the space and one of us hosting the flow. Once the first iteration of music reaches its natural end, we’ll open up the floor, inviting the community to step in, contribute, and co-create. Our intention is to claim space — for healing, dialogue, and sonic exploration. We’ll be joined by members of the jazz community, alongside industry professionals and academics, with music acting as the bridge between worlds, disciplines, and experiences.

The event is FREE, as part of the Words Matter exhibition events programme.
