Join us to celebrate the publication of The Other Tiger: Recent Poetry from Latin America
Argentinian and Mexican poets will offer a sample of the work to be found in The Other Tiger: Recent Poetry from Latin America, introduced and with translations by Professor Richard Gwyn.
Following a discussion with Professor Gwyn about the origins and selection of the book, the poets Jorge Fondebrider and Marina Serrano (Argentina) and Mexicans Carlos López Beltrán and Alicia García Bergua will give short readings of a range of work in the collection, by both themselves and other contributors.
Published by Seren, The Other Tiger has been described by Edith Grossman, renowned translator of Cervantes, Gabriel García Márquez and Mario Vargas Llosa as “A wonderful anthology . . . the translations are beautiful and to the point. This is a book that belongs in every library” and by poet George Szirtes as “a glittering anthology.”
