Event description
Out of the limited population remaining you have been chosen to travel back to try and save your fellow citizens of the world…

About this Event

The Othering is a playable performance for up to 10 audience members which places the audience right into the heart of the mysterious organisation known as the Time Agent Union, a group of rebels who are doing their hardest to prevent the world from collapsing in on itself. The world has been slowly but surely taken over by creatures who look like us, but who have made advances the human race could only dream of. They call themselves The Order. Leading a squad of hardly training Time Agents, you must prevent the initial invasion of The Order in 2019 in order to save our planet but with Crisis Levels at an all time high, it’s only a matter of time before everything ends.

Only question is: Are you up to the job?

Please note: This production contains occasional use of profanity and flashing lights/binaural sound.

No latecomers will be admitted to the performance. The performance lasts for approximately 90 minutes and there is no interval in the performance. Those that choose to exit the auditorium during the performance will not be allowed readmission, except in urgent circumstances.

Also note: You may be seperated from the group that you come to the performance with, due to audience numbers/size.

**

This performance is staged as a part of John Whitney's practice based research thesis into playable performance and audience/performer agency. As a part of attending this performance, you will be invited to take part in a pre and post questionnaire, as well as a question and answer session after the performance itself. The performance lasts approximately 90 minutes, with the feedback session afterwards lasting no longer than 30 minutes. As this performance will be documented for research purposes, you will be asked to fill out a short ethics declaration form - giving your permission for the materials to be used in John Whitney's thesis submission in September 2021. You will not be permitted to participate in this version of the performance if you do not sign the ethics form.
