The Outsiders is a collaborative, interdisciplinary dance theatre project, showcasing the Y3 Laine MTA students in a multitude of dance disciplines. Set in 1960s Oklahoma, The Outsiders follows Ponyboy Curtis, a young Greaser navigating life, loyalty, and loss amidst a world divided by class and conflict. When tensions between the working-class Greasers and the privileged Socs erupt in violence, Ponyboy and his friends must confront questions of identity, belonging, and brotherhood. This project explores themes of friendship, class struggle, violence, grief, and resilience-all told through the powerful language of movement.
