The Packaging and Design Process
The Food and Drink Forum are delighted to work on behalf of Marketing Peak District and Derbyshire (MPDD) to offer Derby and Derbyshire based food and drink producers and visitor economy businesses the opportunity to attend this fully funded course that will enable your business to develop and grow through the food and drink products you produce or procure, through ensuring your food or drink products are packaged in the best possible way to entice customers into buying or trying them  for the first time.  Consumers buy with their eyes and the way your products are displayed and packaged is the key to your food products selling more quickly.
 
Aim:
This workshop is aimed at increasing understanding  of the key issues surrounding packaging design and development.
 
Objectives:
By the end of the course, delegates will be able to understand:
The packaging development process
What is packaging - primary, secondary, tertiary?
The opportunities good packaging design and development offers
An overview of materials, print and commonly used formats
Case studies of good and bad examples of packaging
Packaging waste and routes to sustainability
 
The day will be a combination of presentations and interactive exercises.
 
Who Should Attend? 
Food or drink producers and visitor economy businesses based in Derbyshire that would like to increase their awareness of packaging and how good packaging and presentation can help increase product sales.
 
Event Details:
No of places available: 12
Cost: Fully funded, (non attendance maybe charged)
Timings: 9.00/9.30 - 4.30 pm 
Refreshments: Tea, coffee and lunch will be provided
Please remember that if you cannot attend the event you must cancel 48 hours prior to the event through Eventbrite, otherwise we may have to charge in full for your place.
 
Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify for funding your business must be:

  • A visitor economy(accommodation, attraction, activity provider, food and drink provider etc) or a food and drink producer (supply chain)
  • Based in Derbyshire (and their supply chain)
  • Be an SME (less than 250 FTE employees, have a balance sheet of less than €43m and/or turnover of less than €50m and not be more than 25% owned by another business that is not an SME

12 hours of business support is available at no cost for qualifying businesses thanks to  the project funding. If you wish to attend more than 12 hours of workshops then you may be charged at the commercial rate, however, if you are a member of Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire, there is no limit of events you can attend.

The Food and Drink Forum is delighted to be working on behalf of Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire to offer visitor economy businesses and their supply chain within Derbyshire a range of fully funded business support workshops.  Our 'Growing and Developing the Visitor Economy within Derbyshire' project is funded by: the European Regional Development Fund, Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire, Derbyshire County Council, Peak District National Park Authority, Derbyshire Dales District Council, and High Peak Borough Council.

The wide range of business support workshops are aimed at helping you and your business achieve its full potential and introduce you to new markets and visitors, boosting your competitiveness.

 Workshops will be themed under the following strands:
