Event description
Across Sheffield we are increasingly using the PAM in our approach to support people with Long Term Conditions.

About this Event

Like any measure, if PAM® is to be used well, and generate useful results, people need to know how to use it well. They need to know what it is, how to use it properly, and why it is worth doing.

This half-day PAM® IN PRACTICE workshop has been specifically designed to teach participants to use the PAM® effectively. They will also develop insight into how we can make best use of knowing people’s activation level. They will consider how to tailor care, monitor progress and plan the right type of support, for different activation levels.

During the course participants will:

• Understand the full impact and applications of the PAM® tool.

• Receive practical ‘how to’ guides and best practices for using the PAM®.

• Discover how to achieve accurate PAM® results.

• Be confident to explain to patients and colleagues why activation is so important to measure

• Learn how to interpret PAM® results to inform a person-centred approach.

• Start to consider tailoring approaches to people at different levels of activation.

The programme will be facilitated by educators who have been trained by Peak Health Coaching. They have experience of working with the PAM® in their own work context. They will use real-life examples and share their stories of successfully embedding PAM® in everyday, person-centred practice.

Who Should Attend:

Anyone who is using or about to use PAM as part of their day to day working. Colleagues who work in Health and Social Care, Primary and Secondary Care, Voluntary and Community Organisations. People who use our services.
