Event description

Description

Following on from our launch event in March we are excited to present The Peers' Project Showcase - an evening of talks, panel discussions and refreshing beverages.

We will update you on what we've been up to and how to get involved as well as hosting talks and discussions from our guest speakers:

  • Jonathan Sandy - Dean for Faculty of Health Sciences
  • Ruth Glynn - Reader in Modern Italian Culture
  • Chris Preist - Professor of Sustainability & Computer Systems
  • Fabiene Valeries - Language Director, Department of French
  • Valeska Ting - Reader in Smart Nanomaterials, Department of Mechanical Engineering

As well as panel discussions from active Peers' community members about their views, struggles and experiences in their careers. We aim to cover topics such as;

  • Diversity in academia,
  • The impact of mentoring,
  • Finding a work-life balance,

and give you the chance to mingle with our speakers, panellists and other like-minded individuals from across the university while you enjoy wine and nibbles that will be enthusiastically provided!

This is an opportunity to highlight the importance, value and need of mentoring at the University of Bristol. And it promises to be a lot of fun!

We welcome those who have been involved in the Peers' Project already, but also anyone who is interested in mentoring and career development. Come and join the community!
