Event description

Description

The Peg Talks are back for a seventh round of coffee, cake and inspiring stories.

Swansea is not the graveyard of ambition. It's full of amazing people doing incredible things. We want to celebrate this. So once every couple of months (and maybe a little more), we're holding the Peg Talks. We're inviting people who inspire us to come and share their stories; to tell us who they are, what they do and why they do it.

We'll hear against-the-odds success stories from the world of business. Heart-warming tales of personal achievement. Experts in different fields sharing their know-how. And more that we haven’t even dreamed of yet. Not everyone who speaks will fit the typical idea of 'success'. But they'll all be inspiring in their own right. Unafraid to do things differently.

Once they've spoken, they'll nominate someone they find inspiring for the next round of talks. And so the inspiration keeps on rolling.

The speakers who have been nominated for the next round of Peg Talks are:

Eleanor Shaw

Eleanor Shaw is a Swansea based storyteller, founder and host of Spoken Word Saturday at The Ffwrnes Theatre, Llanelli. She works with communities on ‘Telling their own story’.  Tonight Eleanor will share the pivotal moments that have changed the course of her life so far!

Nick Guy

Nick Guy is chair of "Wheelrights" which campaigns for better provision for cycling in Swansea.  Nick feels passionate about cycling as a cheap, healthy and fun mode of transport. He has just returned from a trip to New York where he was inspired to see how a city geared to cars is adapting to radically improve facilities for walking cycling, and public transport. Nick thinks New York has important lessons for a city like Swansea, and will talk about these at the Peg Talks

Kimberly Littlemore

(In the words of her nominator, Anna Parton): Kim was an integral part of comic relief (producer)for many years but now amongst other various and amazing Projects she runs  a cutting edge production company called little fox . I think she went to Oxford but is a Mumbles gal who has enough energy to power Battersea power station !
