The People's River - #3 Show and Tell Workshop
Event Information
About this Event
Join Manchester Histories' current photographer in residence, Liz Wewiora to hear more about The People's River project and take part in a show and tell workshop of photography taken for The People's River project.
This final workshop is an opportunity for everyone to come back together and share the work they have produced for The People's River project. We will also work as a group to bring people's images together to create a final sequence we can then publicly exhibit in early 2021.
For this session Liz will arrange for people to send their photographs to her in advance (by no later than Friday 11th December)
This is the last in a series of three workshops. It is recommended that you try to attend all three workshops. The first two workshops will take place as follows:
Workshop 2: The People's River PhotoStories Workshop on Thursday 3rd December, 6:00pm - 7.30pm

What is The People's River project?
This workshop is part of The People's River project which is a community-led project delivered by Manchester Histories who are collaborating with people who live and work along the River Irk in North Manchester. The project aims to reveal and share the often hidden histories and stories of people’s heritage in a creative way.
The project is inspired by and designed to commemorate the bicentenary of Friedrich Engels’ birth and his connection to the industrial river. Engels, a German socialist philosopher, wrote about the River Irk in his 1845 essay ‘The Condition of the Working Class in England’, based on his experiences in Manchester.
