Description

The Performance Coach.

In today’s business world Leaders need to develop enhanced communication skills to create alignment and agreement with their employees to achieve desired performance levels. It is proven that fostering a culture of open dialogue, especially around high stake, emotional, or risky topics, at all levels of an organisation will generate growth and productivity. This course will stimulate and support Leaders to conduct crucial business and performance conversations that may have been a barrier to success in the past. It will also generate a sound understanding of Employment Law and the boundaries in which Leaders can operate to achieve a culture shift in behaviour, and improved organisational performance.

What is a Crucial Conversation?

Crucial conversations take place every day, in every workplace; or at least they should. They are discussions between two or more people where the stakes are high, there is a difference of opinions, and emotions run strong. The difference between average and great workplace performance lies in how people handle these difficult conversations.

At the heart of all workplace challenges are conversations that are not being handled correctly, resulting in strained relationships and diminished results. Often, we consider the potentially negative repercussions of speaking up and getting it wrong, but rarely consider the cost of silence for ourselves and our organisation.

Course Objectives?

The Performance Coach offers you a blend of facilitator-led group discussions, exercises, and live skills sessions to learn how to tackle difficult situations that may occur in the workplace that you, as a leader, must resolve. The training programme will enable you to:

  • Develop a unique/natural coaching style that will enhance workplace performance

  • Identify the conversations that are keeping your team from their desired results

  • Understanding why we sometimes avoid these conversations

  • Speak persuasively not abrasively, no matter what the topic

  • Make it safe for others to share their honest opinions

  • Deal with people who either clam up or blow up

  • Gain control of your own emotional responses

  • Disagree without being disagreeable

  • Influence without exerting force

  • Understand the context of Employment Law & taking action

When you have the right coaching skills to discuss difficult workplace issues, the individuals, groups and teams you are in contact with have improved ability to resolve disagreements. This then improves teamwork, decision making, employee engagement and staff retention which all contributes to increase productivity and effectiveness.
