Event Details

Come join us on the 22nd October to celebrate the achievements of the young people (aged 12 to 19) who completed the FairMind PILOT programme this summer.

In addition to attending the 3 day PILOT events which centred around critical thinking and social responsibility, those receiving the award also conducted guided sporting, volunteering and reading activities.

All young people will be presented with a certificate for their efforts and have a chance to discuss their experiences through the programme.

Following on from the success of the PILOT programme we will also take this opportunity to showcase future projects that we are currently planning:

  • Connected community: Creative community projects to encourage reconnection at a basic interpersonal level.
  • Constructive nurturing: Support for parents and guardians

What’s different about the PILOT programme?

Critical analysis approach: The technological revolution has presented us with unique challenges and opportunities. Information is now instantly accessible but facts and opinions can get muddled up with each other. PILOT teaches you how to use a critical analysis approach to make sense of confusing or conflicting information.

Guided self-direction: Being on the cusp of adulthood can present a tricky balance between independence and guidance. Beyond weekly sessions, you are guided to choose your own voluntary, sporting and reading activities. Completion of a reflective journal will encourage understanding of your own strengths and weakness.

Skills for life: PILOT uses fun interactive sessions to teach practical skills such as first aid, sewing, computer coding and public speaking in a relaxed atmosphere. Learning these skills will give you a real sense of achievement in addition to opening up career options and looking great on your cv!

Check out our website for curriculum details.

We are recruiting volunteers and facilitators for the services provided by FairMInd.
