THE PINEAPPLE ROOM Curating a Sustainable Wardrobe
Fri 28 April 2017, 18:30 – 20:00 BST
How to curate a sustainable wardrobe.
From debunking the fashion myths that keep us hooked into buying throwaway trends to introducing you to brands that are making a positive impact in the fashion world; Stylist and Novel Beings co-founder, Alice Wilby, chats to journalist and fashion editor, Bel Jacobs about how to curate a sustainable wardrobe.
Alice is the sought after stylist behind Fashion Revolution's 2016 & 2015 Global Campaigns. She is also co-founder of boutique style agency Novel Beings, who represent stylists and hair & makeup artists for the fashion, beauty and advertising industries. Passionate about ethics and sustainability, Novel supports and promotes sustainable, ethical and conscious brands.
As Style Editor for Metro, Bel Jacobs built the paper’s reputation for cutting edge but approachable fashion content and was one of the first fashion editors to regularly champion sustainable fashion brands. She has been a judge for Fashion Fringe (2011) and the UK Fashion and Textile Awards (2015) and appeared on panels for Nick Knight’s seminal new media site ShowStudio.
The hub coincides with Fashion Revolution Week. Fashion Revolution is a global movement calling for greater transparency, sustainability and ethics in the fashion industry. It want to unite the fashion industry and ignite a revolution to radically change the way our clothes are sourced, produced and purchased, so that what the world wears has been made in a safe, clean and fair way.
