The Pink Singers Concert - Our Chosen Family
About this event
St Matthew's is the mother church of Bethnal Green, house of radical holy mayhem since the 1750s. These days, in addition to our congregation, we host groups for prayer, spirituality and learning about faith, a children's singing club, community projects including arts, organising and support, and much more. We are stubbornly LGBTQ+ affirming & truly believe that where Love is, there God is. Every September we host celebrations on or near the Feast Day for St Matthew, our patron saint. We are delighted that The Pink Singers are part of the programme this year.
This 60-minute performance will be one of The Pink Singers' first public performances since January 2020. As well as giving their second performance of Much to Be Done (the finale from Iain Bell’s opera Stonewall, specially arranged for the Pink Singers) they will be performing a number of old favourites including Together in Electric Dreams and Proud as well as new uplifting songs that resonate with the LGBT+ community and living authentically.
Revenue from the ticket concert will support the church which kindly provided us with a free rehearsal venue during the summer.
