The Plague Comes to Egham: Medicinal Benefits of Herbs WORKSHOP

We are pleased to be hosting London Guildhall Library's 'Great Plague, 1665' touring exhibition at the Museum, alongside which, we investigate earlier plague outbreaks in Egham.
To accompany the exhibition, Egham Museum are hosting a free evening workshop where you will learn how to make plague remedies, receive a medicinal glass of wine, followed by a talk by Lara Thorpe (PhD Candidate at Royal Holloway University of London) on the medicinal myths of the plague.
This event is free and due to limited space, is on a first-come first-served basis. If demand is high, we will re-run the session.
PLEASE NOTE: You will be handling a variety of herbs, so please be aware of any allergies before booking.

Friday 7th April, 11am-4pm, Egham Museum
Make your own Plague Doctor mask and mark houses with a red cross; taste some of the common remedies; and complete the personality quiz to discover if you would have caught the plague!
Free activities and no need to book, just drop by.
