The Plant Room - Garden Sessions 3
Living Wreaths with Tara Rosemary
As part of our on-going collaboration with Tall Boys Beer Market, the Garden Sessions are creative workshops that celebrate plants, creativity and urban growing.
We are really excited to be collaborating with floral designer Tara Rosemary to bring you an evening of willow weaving and living wreath making. Come and learn how to weave your very own willow wreath and adorn it with beautifully sculptural air plants to display inside your home for the festive season and beyond.
What Are Airplants?
Named after the Swedish born botanist Dr Elias Tillandz, Tillandsia, commonly known as airplants, are evergreen, perennial flowering plants that come in many sizes, shapes and forms. They are one of the easiest houseplants to take care of.
Native to Central and Southern America, Southern United States and the West Indies, most Tillandsia species normally grow without soil and can be found in a wide range of habitats ranging from arid deserts and mountainous areas to warm and humid forests. They take in water and nutrients through their leaves. Without the need for conventional roots they produce a small root system which they use to anchor themselves.
Experience Level and Materials
The workshop is a mixed level group and is for everyone. You don’t need to bring anything with you, as all materials that are needed for the session will be provided. Included in the workshop will be some tasty treats for you to enjoy. A quality selection of craft beer and wine will be available to purchase from Tall Boys on the evening for you to sip on whilst you create.
Tickets sell quickly so book early to avoid disappointment.
