Bring 3–5 poems you’d like to consider for submission, even if they’re works in progress. If you have any pre-existing materials—like a bio, cover letter, or a list of journals you’re considering—feel free to bring those too. Most importantly, come with your questions, excitement, and an open mind.

Do I need to have my poems ready to submit before the workshop?

Accepted Answer

Not at all! Bring a selection of poems you’re considering submitting, but even if you’re not 100% sure they’re ready, this workshop will help you identify where you’re at in the process and what to focus on next.

Is this workshop suitable for complete beginners?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! Whether you’re brand new to submitting or have tried it before, this workshop is designed to meet you where you are. Beginners will gain the tools and confidence to start submitting, while experienced poets will refine their strategies and take away new resources.

What if I can’t attend live or if I have to leave early?

No problem! All participants will receive a recording of the workshop, so you can catch up at your own pace. You’ll also get all the bonus materials, including the submission hacks guide and checklists.

Will this workshop cover self-publishing or social media strategies for poets?

While the focus is on traditional literary journals, we’ll touch on the pros and cons of self-publishing and social media during the workshop.
