Event description

Description

Recent negative attention on the role and activities of charities has led to public debate on the purpose of charities in the UK today, yet political and social changes over the last few years mean that charities will need to play a greater role in supporting prosperity for all. How can we restore public trust in charities? What role should charities play in society and politics? How should charities adapt to changes in technology and behaviour?

‘THE POLICY FACTOR!’ is a talent show-style policy debate that makes the most of audio-visual tools to engage with politicians, policy experts, commentators and audiences both within and beyond the fringe. Each interactive event will explore a positive policy idea for the next Parliament, in the style of an ‘audition’. Responding to the proposal, a ‘judging panel’ will be comprised of individuals representing a variety of views, for example the party, the press, or the people.

The big idea? To find new talent to challenge ‘politics-as-usual’.
