What role does politics play in the state of people’s mental wellbeing in Bristol? How much influence do our local politicians have on the mental health agenda for our city?
We have teamed up with Festival of Ideas to present a panel discussion to explore these questions. With key change makers in attendance, we will be delving into the reality of mental health support in Bristol.
We will debate what can be done to improve it and how we, as individuals, can shape the conversation on how support for our wellbeing can be better, including how different services can respond to this.
We will be taking questions and discussion points prior to the event to put to the panellists so get in touch by emailing email@example.com . We will also be taking contributions from the floor to ensure that you are able to hold our local changemakers accountable.
Who do we have on the panel?
> Jenny Lacey (Independent Chair)
> MP Thangam Debbonaire - Member of Parliament for Bristol West constituency (Labour Party) since May 2015.
> Councillor Fi Hance - Council representative for Redland Ward (Green Party) & Cabinet Member for City Health and Wellbeing.
> Councillor Clare Campion-Smith - Council representative for Westbury-on-Trym and Henleaze (Liberal Democrats Party).
> Dr Dominique Thompson - Director of Service for the Student Health Service at the University of Bristol.
