Event description
Encounter focused on the reflection, discussion, and collective production around the universe of Collective Critical Spatial Practices.

About this Event

These days there is a diverse range of interdisciplinary groups, some professionals and others amateur, as new agents of change within cities that are reshaping and questioning the previous generation. Facing a crisis scenario, from trial and error, and with a critical and refreshing political stance, a series of collectives have begun to define a new territory for action and transformation. To advance in these guidelines, we must find a common language, a mutual recognition, and, find the channels to transfer the knowledge around these experiments. The proposal trust that this new social body that has being forging, can begin to outline some structural socio-spatial transformations. To be able to dispute the spaces of power in our times, we must find new tools, methodologies, and positions to cope the neoliberal machinery.

Temporarily, a space will be prepared for an open and transversal dialogue, with the purpose of sharing positions, experiences, logics of understanding and practical approaches around the new ways of operating in areas where art and architecture are intertwined.

The collective work and interaction during this encounter will be around a collection of contents as a tool to enter in dialogue with others, for self-definition, for the deconstructing of expertise, for the critique of the conditions of the ´state of art´ of our disciplines, and for the production of new readings and knowledge around this new emerging field.

Wednesday 16 October, 15:30 at The Bartlett –22 Gordon Street, room 1.02-
