Event description
Explore the roots and the political philosophy behind the term 'political blackness' - and how it's highly relevant in today's society.

About this Event

From the powerful resistant politics and unity between different groups that were struggling with racial injustices in the '70s and '80s came the term 'political blackness'. Today the term is less used and often misunderstood.

Join us to explore the roots and the political philosophy behind the term 'political blackness' - how it was connected to grassroots action against racism, colonialism, and imperialism around 40 years ago.

And exploring what the term has come to mean today, where collective Black identity has been broken. How it is still highly relevant and needs to be revived.
