Welcome to The Power of Population Data: Introducing WorldPop Global 2015–2030!
Population data drives everything from humanitarian response to programme strategies, urban planning, economic development, climate adaptation. Accessing accurate, high-resolution demographic data continues to be a challenge in many parts of the world.
For over 10 years, WorldPop, a leading research programme based at the University of Southampton, has been working to address this challenge. We are proud to announce the launch of our new open-access collection of high-resolution global demographic datasets, available from 4 September 2025. Covering 242 countries and territories, the new dataset provides age- and sex-disaggregated annual population estimates for the years 2015 to 2030.
WorldPop Director, Professor Andy Tatem, Deputy Director (Research) Dr Jessica Espey, and Dr Maksym Bondarenko, Head of SDI, and invited guests, will introduce the new datasets, demonstrate this significant advance in population data, explain the covariates used to create the data, and answer your questions.
Don't miss out on this opportunity to learn from the WorldPop experts and users about our data and methods, and explore the potential use and impact of WorldPop population data. Learn to navigate WorldPop’s data portal, visualisation tools, API for immediate data application for your needs, and have your technical questions answered by our Spatial Data Infrastructure experts.
