This workshop will explore gambling and the associated risks and harms, including the increasingly blurred lines between gaming and gambling for practitioners working in Scotland.
The session will aim to achieve this through highlighting the launch of our new innovative resource: "A parent's story chatting about reducing gaming and gambling harm"
“This booklet will raise your awareness of types of gambling, to help you help your children manage these risks.
Open the conversation and model how to manage the temptation.
You're not alone.” Quote from parent during a webinar
The session will be delivered by the Scottish Gambling Education Hub, a Fast Forward project.
Following a harm reduction approach, we will discuss how to talk about gambling with the individuals and groups by adopting the booklet and discussing a range of scenarios.
This will enable practitioners to be more prepared to lead conversations, discussion around gambling and gaming with children, young people or families by using the booklet in a range of ways.
We will also share free educational resources with links to specialist support
