Alan, Clare, and Chris will be exhibiting together in The Power of Three at Artizan Gallery in August 2017.

The exhibition will run from 1st – 29th August with a ‘Meet the Artists’ private viewing on 5th August from 6pm to 8pm.

About the Artists

Alan Gregory
“For me, painting is about helping the observer appreciate the beauty of the natural world, and to celebrate the environment that surrounds them. But this beauty can sometimes be elusive, or not obvious at first glance, and it is this hidden element that I also seek to explore.”

Having been drawing, painting, and collecting art for many years, Alan Gregory lives and works in Shaldon, Devon. Having had a successful career as a senior academic, Alan made the decision in 2014 to devote more of his life to his art, and has been a full-time painter ever since. His collection of landscape paintings has an abstract quality, taking in both full views and macro details of the ‘hidden elements’ of the natural world.

Clare Jenkinson

“I look for rhythm and patterns in colour and shape, sometimes grouping objects together because they come from the same walk along the beach.”

From her base in Teignmouth, Clare Jenkinson produces vibrant oil paintings and detailed studies in watercolour. Clare trained and works as a carpet designer – a background which influences the detail and texture present in her art.

Chris Pitman

“I aspire to transform moors, hills, water, sand, buildings, and people into compelling scenes, finding a constant source of inspiration in the fluctuating light of the seasons.”

Born, raised, and based in Teignmouth, Chris Pitman has been creating art for over 25 years, procuring mentoring from other acclaimed artists along the way. Using the distinctive lighting provided by the Teign Estuary’s East-West alignment, Chris presents a unique perspective with his mesmerising scenes of life in South Devon.
