Event description
First annual Sensation Sussex conference

About this Event

The Leverhulme Doctoral Scholarship Programme 'From sensation and perception to awareness' proudly present the first annual Sensation Sussex conference, which will be taking place 16th July 2019 at the University of Sussex.

The programme, directed by Professor Jamie Ward and Professor Anil Seth, and funded by the Leverhulme Trust, brings together researchers and doctoral students from across neuroscience, philosophy, psychology, robotics, and the arts, with the goal of advancing our understanding of interactions between sensation, perception, as well as awareness in humans, animals, and machines.

This full-day event will gather speakers from around the UK, offering an excellent opportunity to take part of current research on this year’s topic 'From Sensation and Perception to Awareness: The Role of Prediction'.

This year’s speakers include:

· Dr Katerina Fotopoulou

· Professor Andy Clark

· Dr Rosalyn Moran

· Dr Ryota Kanai

In addition, we strongly encourage you to take the opportunity to learn about the ongoing projects at the University of Sussex: PhD students and postdoctoral researchers from all disciplines will be sharing their work in short talks as well as a poster session during the lunch break.

We look forward to seeing you at Sussex!
