Description

About this event:

As part of The Provost Derek Hole Annual Lecture Series, join us to hear The Right Reverend Martyn Snow, Bishop of Leicester, deliver his lecture, 'Pursuing Peace in a World of Faiths'.

In his powerful book Not is God’s Name, Rabbi Jonathan Sacks declares: “Despite predictions of continuing secularisation, the twenty-first century has witnessed a surge of religious extremism and violence in the name of God. For the sake of humanity and the free world, the time has come for people of all faiths and none to stand together and declare: not in God’s name.” Bishop Martyn will reflect on his own experience in different parts of the world to explore how people of different faiths can work together to pursue peace.
