Overview

Attend to learn more about the launch of the C19-YRS public app to support the Long Covid community

This webinar is brought to you by ELAROS 24/7 LTD and is open to the Long Covid community.

Join us to learn about ELAROS’ C19-YRS app which is being launched to the public to support people with Long Covid with limited support or access to clinical services.

Background:

ELAROS and the University of Leeds partnered in 2020 to co-design and develop the digital “C19-YRS” platform to support Long Covid specialist clinical services, patients and research studies into the condition, offered on a not-for-profit basis to public health services.

It was soon adopted by early adopters at Airedale, Bradford, Salford, Pennine Acute, and Liverpool NHS Trusts, before later being adopted and used to support over 30,000 patients across 60+ health organisations internationally in the UK and Republic of Ireland: supporting a third of NHS England’s services and being nationally commissioned by NHS Scotland.

C19-YRS has enabled numerous research studies including the NIHR LOCOMOTION and HERITAGE studies, national service evaluations for NHS England and NHS Scotland, and studies in Australia.

The C19-YRS is named after the world’s first clinically validated patient reported outcome measure for Long Covid / Post Covid-19 Syndrome, the Covid-19 Yorkshire Rehabilitation Scale, which is nationally recommended by NHS England alongside the EQ-5D-5L and is considered to be a gold standard assessment for the condition worldwide. It features in guidelines from health authorities in Canada, Chile, recognised by the World Health Organisation and in NICE’s rapid guideline for Covid-19.

As we end 2025, the future commissioning of dedicated clinical services looks uncertain, with many long covid specialist services across the United Kingdom and internationally being decommissioned; transferring responsibilities to primary care; or merging into long-term condition management services with other conditions like ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia.

This webinar marks the official launch of our C19-YRS app to the public to enable users to access the NHS-recommended assessment tools and support resources produced by a range of NHS organisations, charities, and the World Health Organisation, without a referral to a clinical service which may not exist in certain areas.

Our public C19-YRS app will be free to register and provide options to generate clinical reports to help interpret their scores and track changes over time, and facilitate discussions with clinicians, family members, or employers if they wish.

We will share plans for our future updates and how to access them, and would welcome our audience to submit questions to c19-yrs@elaros.com ahead of time for a live FAQ session on the day.

We are pleased to be joined by a patient advocate to speak about his experience of Long Covid and how using the app has helped him. Our speaker is the Co-Founder & Lead Patient of the Norfolk and Waveney Long Covid and ME/CFS Peer Support Group; and Member of the Patient & Carer Experience Panel for NCH&C and Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital Trust.

This event will be recorded. Please email c19-yrs@elaros.com for a copy of the recording if you are unable to attend on the day, and to hear more about upcoming updates and research studies available to join through the C19-YRS app.

A maximum of 250 participants will be able to join on the day due to restrictions with Microsoft Teams and will be limited to registered attendees only.
