The Purposeful Organisation
Thu 22 June 2017, 09:30 – 16:00 BST
This one-day workshop explores the nature of purpose. It is facilitated by Clive Wilson, author of “Designing the Purposeful Organization – how to inspire business performance beyond boundaries”, and a recent peer-reviewed article published in “Development and Learning in Organizations: An International Journal”.
By participating in this workshop you will achieve:
- A deeper understanding of purpose through exploration of its nature: organisationally, psychologically, biologically, energetically, and mathematically.
- Curiosity as to how this understanding can be used to leverage performance in the NHS.
- Action arising from particular challenges brought and attended to by participants.
During the event you’ll be led through four ‘zones’ which aim to provide inspiration, reflection, and stimulate curiosity and action:
Inspiration Zone: Discover learning from other thought leaders that have inspired Clive in his exploration of purpose using the following themes: organisationally, psychologically, biologically, energetically, and mathematically.
Reflection zone: Reflect on what the five themes mean for you and create mind-maps .
Curiosity zone: Explore the theme with which you have the greatest curiosity and discuss with others who have similar curiosity. Share any challenges you face and choose one or more for further exploration.
Action zone: Develop action learning sets on your challenges. The aim is to challenge you to define the next steps you will take towards progressing your challenge. You will share these with the wider group as part of the review.
