KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Dr Julie Gottlieb (University of Sheffield)
“Feminist Pacifism in the Transition from Peace to the Second World War”
This conference will explore the concept of peace and how it has been pursued in social, cultural, and political settings. These settings might include international organisations such as the UN, its precursor the League of Nations, the EU or NATO. They might also include NGOs and advocacy organisations or perhaps grassroots social and cultural movements. This is intended to be an interdisciplinary conference and we would welcome proposals for papers from researchers in all disciplines including (but not limited to) history; international relations; art history; literature; film and theatre studies; sociology; political science; law and philosophy.
