Event description


Stowey Walking, the Walkers are Welcome steering group for the villages of Nether Stowey and Over Stowey are holding a weekend walking festival in the beautiful Quantock Hills, England oldest AONB. The festival will showcase the unique landscape of the hills and is supported by the Quantock Hills AONB.

There will be a programme of guided walks of varying lengths and difficulty to suit both serious walkers and famillies out for a more leisurely stroll.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

All walks start at convenient parking places in and around the Quantocks.

Is there a minimum age requirement to enter the event?

Children under 16 years should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.


Dogs are permitted on all walks but must be kept on a lead to protect livestock and ground nesting birds. Owners must accept full resonsibility for their dogs behaviour and walk leaders have the discretion to refuse to allow any dog from taking part.

What should I bring to the event?

Please wear suitable foot-wear, we suggest either walking shoes or boots. Also a rain-coat, sun hat, sun protection cream and a bottle of drinking water. For longer walks please bring a picnic lunch.
