The Queen Square GP Seminars 2017 - "Sleep Disorders"
Tue 16 May 2017, 18:30 – 20:30 BST
Please join Queen Square Private Healthcare and our colleagues at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, for the next event in our popular series of free GP seminars.
For this event, Dr Sofia Eriksson, Consultant Neurologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery will be discussing common sleep disorders.
"Sleep disorders are common reasons for patients to seek help and advice from their general practitioner" Dr Eriksson explains. "Despite this, there is generally very little education on sleep and sleep disorders during medical school and subsequent training. Insomnia is often the main problem, but there may also be patients feeling excessively tired or having odd events at night."
This seminar will provide useful information on how to treat common sleep disorders such as insomnia and sleep related breathing disorder. Using case studies and videos, the session will also offer guidance on assessment of and when to suspect less common sleep disorders such as parasomnias or narcolepsy.
As always, registration for this event is free and certificates will be provided for CPD. All delegates are also welcome to attend a drinks reception at the Queen Square Private Consulting Rooms following the session.
Please note these are sessions are designed for medical professionals and are not approrpriate for patients or members of the general public.
