About this event
- 1 hour
The first of a new series of events exclusively for publishers, The Reading Agency Insights session aims to provide publishers with crucial consumer data, learning and expertise from ten years of Reading Well book selection and co-production work.
What will be shared at the events?
- New data about reader needs
- Evidence about what makes health information books more accessible and inclusive
- Knowledge about gaps in current health publishing linked to unmet reader need
- New insights to add value to health publishing, including why certain titles are picked over others, what readers want from a health information book and what would improve a product for the end user
- Our own research demonstrating that reading can improve health and wellbeing
Who should attend?
- All publishers are invited to attend, whether you are involved in health publishing or not. Our consumer insight relates to books that have strong themes relating to mental and physical health, which includes fiction titles, memoirs, as well as health information.
- These events are open to any role and any department that is interested in accessing new reader insight and data, including editorial, designers, marketing and publicity, production and diversity and inclusion leads.
Please note this event will not available as a recording.
Find out more about the next events taking place on 5th June , focusing on children and young people’s mental health, and 25th June , focusing on adult mental health and dementia.
The series is part of a wider Reading Well development programme funded by Arts Council England.
The Reading Agency
The Reading Agency is a UK charity with a mission to empower everyone to read. Evidence shows that reading improves health and wellbeing, life chances and social connections. The Reading Agency champions access to the proven power of reading by providing activities for all ages. Working with public libraries, prisons, hospitals and other community settings, we reach over two million people a year. But with a UK population of over 67 million that's not nearly enough. We want to get more people fired up about reading because everything changes when you read. Click here to find out more about what we do and how to help us on our mission.
