OUR NHS FUTURE - THE REAL CONSULTATION IS HERE
On Tuesday, our community will once again be 'consulted' about cuts to our NHS services, this time cuts to acute care including the loss of 32 beds at Torbay hospital. In October, the people of Totnes turned out in force to object to the closure of our precious community hospitals and the privatisation of care services across the South Devon and Torbay area. We told the CCG that we didn't want the cuts and privatisation measures the current government is railroading through. They ignored us. What's worse, the consultation was reported as a huge 'success' because so many people got involved!!
This time, instead of lending credibility to their sham 'consultation' process, we will be holding an Alternative, Citizens' Review of the cuts to our NHS. Join us outside the Civic Hall on Tuesday at 6pm, when we will hear from local councillors, healthcare workers, and YOU the public about what we really want. We will make sure the people inside the 'consultation' meeting hear what we have to say.
Come and join us! Tell us what YOU think about the cuts and privatisation of your NHS. Wear RED, bring yourself, your placard, your passion and something to make a BIG noise!
If you already have a ticket to the 'official' consulation meeting at 6.30, come and hear what we have to say first. You never know, you might decide that our meeting is more open, honest, democratic - and FUN!
Buckfastleigh folks meet at Victoria Woodholme car park, with or without cars to share the trip to Totnes at 5:35.
