Event description

Description

PrayerFlow London presents a gospel musical production, ‘The Red Dress’ written and directed by Lydia Lewinson. With twists and turns the play takes you on a journey of a mother (Angela), whose relationship with her daughter (Leteisha) runs into issues, as she starts to date an older man named Jayden. Whilst Angela turns to her church prayer group for help, is she being completely honest about why she is overly protective of her daughter? Is Angela the only person with secrets at her local church... is Sister Ladine Rose also being shady? Everyone has a secret, but how long does it stay that way? Come to sing, laugh and possibly cry, whilst the story of love, betrayal and pain unveils.

Theatre Peckham will host ‘The Red Dress’ which uniquely has an all female cast with Keisha Brown taking the leading role as ‘Angela’, Rebecca McPherson playing ‘Leteisha’ and Maulin Fisher starring as ‘Sister Ladine Rose’; with many more starring roles, including dancers and vocalists who all set the stage alight.

The show features guest musicians: Vanessa Wilkes (Keys), Nadine Lee (Bass), Antra Lante (Guitar) and Elesha Hughes (Drums).

This production is not suitable for children under 13 years. The play and its characters are fictional, however it does portray a number of topical issues that affect many women. There are scenes that some may find ‘distressing’ within the content. If any member of the audience needs access to support following the performance, a list of agencies will be available.
