Our first outing to the Reform Club in August was hugely over-subscribed so we have very kindly been offered a second go.

The Reform Club itself was founded in 1836 in the wake of the Reform Act 1832 as a meeting place for high-ranking radical politicians from both Houses along with their political allies and sponsors. Its first and only home was designed by Sir Charles Barry in the classical grand palazzo style, opening in 1841. Its Saloon in particular is regarded as the finest of all London's clubs. Its library, following extensive donations from members, grew to contain over 85,000 books. Our tour will be co-led by fellow London Historian Member Mark Ackerman. who is a member of the Club.

Dress code.Before you book, please note and consider that there is a strict dress code which requires minimum jacket, collared shirt and tie for gentlemen and similar smart attire for ladies. No denim or sports footwear. Whatsoever. Also, photography is not permitted.
