OBJECTIVES

Safeena Rashid will discuss the current refugee crisis and the practical lessons we can learn from supporting migrants through first instance interviews and family reunification. She will also provide an insight to her own personal experience of the living conditions migrants currently face abroad

PARTICIPANTS

This seminar will be of interest to solicitors and trainees working in immigration and asylum law, human rights law and public law.

SPEAKERS

Safeena Rashid, Advocate. Safeena called as an advocate in 2013. Prior to that she trained with the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service and then was a Depute for a short period. During her time as an advocate she has appeared on behalf of the Home Office in the First Tier Tribunal and has also taken time out of practice in order to give legal advice to refugees in Lesvos.
