The Rehma Fund presents its Annual Charity Comedy Night on 18th June 2019!

The Rehma Fund comedy night is back again! As always, we have another absolutely cracking line-up for you - take a look at the brief biographies below of our confirmed acts. In previous years our acts have had audiences laughing so hard we could barely breathe and we're looking forward to an encore!

Doors will open at 6pm for a buffet which is included in the ticket price. The show will start at 7pm.

Thanks so much in advance for purchasing a ticket and therefore helping some of our society's most vulnerable children and families. In previous years you have helped the fund raise over £4,000 in total through the annual comedy night, which is such a heart-warming effort all round. We are truly grateful for your generosity and look forward to seeing you there again!

Mark Dolan as MC

http://www.markdolan.com; Twitter: @mrmarkdolan

Mark hosted our first two comedy nights and was an absolute hit. He's back by popular demand, with a whole host of people asking us to ensure they get to see him perform again. He has been host of the iconic Channel 4 comedy shows "Balls of Steel" and "Mad Bad Ad Show". This was followed by three series of the hugely popular Channel 4 documentary series, "The World’s…and Me", in which he met some of the world's most extraordinary people - including the smallest, tallest and hairiest folks, as well as the most surgically enhanced woman! He also performs at a wide array of stand-up and corporate events. Mark is ongoing weekly commentator for Sky News and stars in BBC1's Pointless Celebtrities. For those who came in previous years, you know you’re in for a huge treat with this chap as MC!

Nish Kumar

www.nishkumar.co.uk; Twitter: @MrNishKumar

Nish Kumar is a critically acclaimed comedian who has made a huge name for himself as a fantasically intelligent dissector of politics today. A wonderfully nice gentleman, we are absolutely ecstatic to have Nish headlining our event this year!

Since beginning his comedy career in 2006, Nish has achieved global success on the stand-up circuit and won a host of prestigious comedy awards. As well as consistent sell-out shows at one of London's most noted comedy haunts, The Soho Theatre, he has received regular invitations to perform at the renowned Melbourne International Comedy Festival, New Zealand Comedy Festival and the comedy tent at Latitude Music Festival.

Alongside his flourishing stand-up career, Nish has also made the exciting step over to the small screen, having graced TV sets across the nation on the likes of "Mock the week", "Question Time" and "The Mash Report" on BBC, "The Kumars" on Sky and "Russell Howard's Stand-up Central" for Comedy Central.

Fiona Allan

Fiona Allen is a comedian and actress who has appeared in various sketch and panel shows, including Smack the Pony, Goodness Gracious Me and Mock the Week. She now brings her sharp brand of humour to the stage at our comedy night and we can't wait!

Eshaan Akbar

http://eshaanakbar.com; Twitter: @eshaanakbar

Another act back by popular demand and specifically requested by members of the audience form last year. In a short space of time Eshaan has made waves on the comedy circuit. Within a year of starting stand-up comedy, he’s been a Finalist in the prestigious  “So you think you’re funny” (SYTYF) competition for new acts at the Edinburgh Fringe Comedy Festival. SYTYF has kick-started the careers of dozens of the country’s top comedians including Peter Kay, Johnny Vegas, Alan Carr, Rhod Gilbert, Russel Howard and many, many more. He also won the esteemed Picadilly Comedy Club New Comedian of the Year award in 2016. To top if off, he now has his own one-man sell-out show at none other than the Soho Theatre. When you see him perform, you’ll see why he’s in such esteemed company!

Anubhav Phal

His articles and interviews has been featured in the whose who of the media world, including The New York Times, BBC, Time Magazine, Vogue India, The Guardian, Time Out, Wall Street Journal and The Telegraph.

A charming and disarming wit, Anubav has regular sell-out shows at the Soho Theatre. His show called "The Empire" is a hilarious account of his journey of discovery to understand his place in contemporary India with the backdrop of social media, American consumerism and a colonial history. With the Financial Times calling his show "Incredible. A mind bogglingly funny and necessary take on the British Empire in India", we are incredibly excited to have him on the bill for our event!

The Rehma Fund UK

The Rehma Fund for Children has been established in memory of Rehma Sabir, our beautiful, joyful daughter, who passed away days after her first birthday in January 2013.

The Fund’s mission is to Equalize Access to Healthcare for All Children, Everywhere. The objective of the fund is to support and work with charitable causes that further this mission.

It is impossible to describe the heartbreak of losing one’s child. During the difficult time spent in the hospital by Rehma’s bedside, we experienced first hand what a difference a high quality healthcare environment made to our precious daughter and eventually to us when it came time to say goodbye.

We believe that for each child, high quality healthcare should be a right, not a privilege. We created The Rehma Fund out of a need to channel our grief at the loss of our daughter into something productive and positive.

‘Rehma’ means Mercy. Rehma was, and continues to be, a mercy and blessing in our lives. Please join us in honoring our daughter’s memory by striving to make high quality healthcare available to all children. Please help us to give other children the opportunity to continue to love, smile, laugh and spread mercy as Rehma did.

Thank you for your kind thoughts and support,

Nada Siddiqui & Sameer Sabir
