The Return of the Great Bristol Circle Quiz Night
It's Quiz time again and to whet your appetite here are a few of our favourite teasers from last year: can you rember the answers?
• Which is the smallest country by population ever to win the FIFA world cup?
• How many former British Prime Ministers are still alive?
• According to their songs, what did Bonnie Tyler need that Tina Turner definitely didn’t?
Business psychologist Cryptic Caroline will be setting the questions for the Return of the Great Bristol Circle Quiz in aid of the Jessie May Trust. There will be rounds to suit every taste and capability with a special guest apperance of a sports round, a bar (cash only) to help keep the brain cool and hot food for energy. There will also be a raffle and plenty of other opportunities to help us beat last years fundraising total of £1,200 for this extremely worthwhile local cause.
The date for the diary: 6 October, 6:00pm for 6:30pm start. Teams of 4 - £50 per team includes food.
JESSIE MAY TRUST
The services of Jessie May are Free of Charge – Please give generously.
Jessie May is a children’s hospice at home service who are currently supporting 85 children who will not live beyond their teenage years and a further 34 bereaved families. Since they were founded in 1996 they have supported over 220 children and families.
The families face a terribly difficult journey with many difficult decisions to be made throughout their child’s life. Some children may be expected to die within a few weeks of birth; others may have a long-term condition that causes them to degenerate over a number of years.
All of the children cared for by Jessie May have extremely complex medical needs and Jessie May Nurses provide much needed respite visits for as long as they are needed. A trusting relationship between family and Nurse develops which helps Jessie May Nurses to deal with the demands of their child’s physical care, including complex medication and the ability to respond quickly to changes in a child’s condition.
When the time comes, Jessie May Nurses will provide children or babies with intensive end of life care and go on supporting their families through their loss for up to five years.
