About this event

Health • Mental health

This session is all about exploration and creativity in a relaxed and supportive environment. You’ll have the opportunity to engage with various therapeutic percussion instruments, including frame drums, rainsticks, koshi chimes and shakers, even if you’ve never played before!

Our focus will be on collective rhythm-building rather than perfection.

We'll start with some simple guidance on how to play the instruments, and then let the magic happen with both guided and unstructured jam sessions where everyone can contribute creatively. It’s about embracing spontaneity, connecting with others, and enjoying the process of making music together.

Expect to feel energized, uplifted, and perhaps a bit silly as we all dive into the joy of rhythm!

This is not about showcasing talent or skills, but rather about fostering a sense of community and having fun. Come ready to let loose and experience the joy of creating something beautiful as a group. No expectations, just pure creative expression!

Please wear comfortable that allows you to sit sit, stand, move freely (no dancing required but you never know what might happen here!)

What to Bring:

  • An open mind and a willingness to try something new
  • You may wish to bring a drink with you.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be able to play an instrument?

Not at all. You don't need any previous experience of playing music or sound in any format. All instruments are provided.

What will the session look like?

We'll start with getting to know a few percussion instruments - frame drums, rainstick, shakers - very easy to play. Angie will guide you every step, in creating different sounds and in how to play together in a small group (5 people). Expect some chaos, laughter and lots of uplifting energy.
