Much of London as we know it today was shaped in the 1660s by those who had been loyal to Charles I against Oliver Cromwell. When Charles II came to the throne these people were handsomely rewarded, which often meant the granting of a grand title and a substantial tract of land. Come with me and discover the people whose names mark the streets and squares we walk through today. Hear their stories, enjoy the gossip, see where they lived and loved, plotted and deceived, and made and lost fortunes.
Join me on this tstroll through the elegant streets of St James's and Mayfair. The tour lasts for approximately 2 hours and incorporates regular stops to discover the stories and secrets behind this elegant area of London. Discover the stories behind the wealthy and titled ndividuals who played a key part in developing Westminster during the 17th and 18th centuries.
