The Riff Raff June Meet-up
Event Information
Description
The Riff Raff is an event for aspiring authors and lovers of new writing. Each month we hear from five debut authors with a recently published book.
This is your chance to:
* Hear new work from exciting debut authors first...
* Ask questions of authors who only recently made the leap onto Step One of that daunting publishing ladder…
* Snap up signed copies of books...
* Seek inspiration for your own masterpiece…
* And, most importantly, to make friends with people who understand that trying to write a book is HARD.

At our June event, we're joined by an awesome line-up of writers:
Sharlene Teo, author of Ponti - described as 'remarkable' by none-other than Ian McEwan, Ponti is a story of friendship and memory that spans decades and wonderfully combines mythology and modernity in Singapore.
Paul Howarth, author of Only Killers and Thieves - a story of savagery and race, injustice and honor, set in the untamed frontier of 1880s Australia—reminiscent of Philipp Meyer’s The Son and the novels of Cormac McCarthy
Rachel Edwards, author of Darling - a tale of a white teenage girl clashing with her new black stepmother in this debut reading group thriller
Sophie Mackintosh, author of The Water Cure - a dystopic feminist revenge fantasty about three sisters on an isolated island, raised to fear men. For fans of The Handmaid's Tale meets The Virgin Suicides.
Justin Myers, author of The Last Romeo - a razor-sharp and cringingly candid account of one man's quest for The One which is as sad, fearless and funny as dating itself.
