An entertaining and informative evening. Useful insights into the housing sector with two very informative presentations detailing some of the project and operational challenges and pitfalls. Apart from the Housing Association 'faux pas' and lively engaging feedback, I learned how the IT world has much in common, with other parts of the public sector and that the commonalities of delivering worthwhile IT change in a project environment have more similarities than differences.

I found the event very useful and a worthwhile use of my evening. Both speakers covered topics of current relevance to myself and role at Muir, which includes leading a business transformation programme, centred on replacing a number of key business systems, including Housing Management System – the first speaker allowed me to mentally benchmark the way I have structured Muir’s transformation programme against best practice. The second speaker covered issues related to the nature and structure of ICT management within the Housing Sector, again having a similar non-Housing background to the speaker enabled me to cross-check my thoughts and solutions with his experience. The networking with other delegates was also useful to check what other organisations are doing to meet current challenges in the sector.

I enjoyed the recent event held at the Gravitas Manchester Offices. I thought that the choice of speakers provided an interesting and contrasting view of implementation in the Housing Sector. Not only was there some valuable advice regarding the processes and priorities to consider in systems implementation from an experienced Housing Sector consultant, but there was also a refreshing and challenging viewpoint from a newcomer to the established practices of public sector management. I look forward to the next seminar.

I was invited to the Networking event and wasn’t too sure what to expect as this was my first one. However, as soon as I turned up I was made welcome by Eve, Mary, Sophie and other Colleagues from Gravitas. The event was well organised, there were drinks and food too! I found both speakers to be clear, knowledgeable and the topics very interesting. I especially liked the questions and answer sessions at the end… I felt we could go on for hours. There was good attendance on the night and I had the chance to network, which I did. This was an excellent experience for me, well done to everyone @ Gravitas, especially Jo - I would definitely go again/encourage others to attend.
