The rise of the superbugs - antibiotic resistance, the end of mankind?

Ian Goodall Describes this talk like this:

“Antibiotics have saved millions of lives since Penicillin was discovered by Alexander Fleming about 100 years ago. But now, more and more resistant strains of antibiotics are arising. This is partly due to overprescribing, partly because pharmaceutical companies aren’t interested in finding new ones, and partly because of their use with farm animals. If we no longer have antibiotics available, then we will be back in the situation where people die of childhood infections, and surgery like hip replacement becomes a lottery. My talk is highly illustrated with many colourful slides.”
