As part of the Nahrein Network – Chatham House collaboration to explore the future of cultural heritage in Iraq and its role for rebuilding society and reconstruction, we are pleased to be organising a webinar series on pertinent issues in this field.
This webinar on 30 October, 6pm UK time, 9pm Iraq time, will explore the relationship between academia in Iraq and cultural heritage.
The webinar is organised in partnership with the University of Mosul.
Speakers from Iraq and the United States will examine opportunities and challenges in preserving cultural heritage in Nineveh and in Mosul in particular.

The webinar series runs from 5th October to 10th December 2020 and is prepared with a view to highlighting challenges, opportunities and policy issues in relation to Iraq’s cultural heritage.
The webinar series will see speakers and participants from the UK and Iraq as well as from other countries engage in discussions on a wide-ranging set of issues concerning cultural heritage, including cultural protection, sustainability, the economy, peacemaking, education, conservation and intangible cultures. Other topics will also be covered, and a tentative programme has been prepared, which can be viewed here:
