Event description

Description

BIM (Building Information Modelling) is set to play an increasingly important role in the Nuclear industry and KTN is pleased to be working in partnership with authors of ‘BIM and Data Management Strategy – Nuclear’ (Isgar- Elsden – Bew) and Nuclear South West to deliver two timely events updating the industry on the latest developments and to share best practice of a full range of activities including strategy, early adopters and status around BIM Level 2 and the aspirations for BIM Level 3 and Digital Built Britain. The roles of the Business Case and Project Initiation together forming the Enterprise Life-cycle Management with EPC and Operations towards Decommissioning and Disposal will be discussed. The alignment since 2012 of government ‘Industrial Strategies for BIM, Nuclear and Construction 2025’ are reflected in the new government department that this work supports.

Speakers from the established Industry as well as the newly forming Government BIM and Digital facing bodies together with Institutions, client bodies and delivery organisations in the supply chain will be sharing through presentation and open panel discussion best practice through all facets of their work.

The aim of the conference is to bring together nuclear professionals, constructors and operators with small SMEs developing disruptive innovative technology that will drive the innovation in digital infrastructure in the sector.

The event will be an ideal platform to join together companies working in the sector with nuclear infrastructure operators. The event will give learning opportunities for SMEs who have yet to develop a digital construction capability. Supply chains in construction and infrastructure are complex and expensive. A number of initiatives exist to encourage SME’s to engage in the construction supply chain. This event will highlight some outstanding examples of high tech solutions in nuclear digital construction and explore how more can still be achieved. The conference will be a non-commercial opportunity to explore the key issues and opportunities for digital construction in the nuclear industry.
